Well the adventure starts today.
Bobby traveled up from the south to St Bees and I have come down from the north to the end of the trip, Saltburn, to leave my car with friends at the finish line. I then caught 4 trains across the country to Whitehaven. Northern rail were great and managed to get me and about 5 other cyclists on the trains :-)
Bobby an I had our photo taken next to the C2C sculpture and then went out on one of the piers for a brew. The sun was shining bright and the seagulls were whizzing round.
After a refreshing brew and a burger (no lunch on the trains) we set off on the 5 mile cycle over to St Bees. This was the first test of the sat nav. Apart from me messing up a couple of times it worked great :-). This bodes well for the rest of the trip. By the time we reached St Bees the phone was back up to 100%. The solar panel charges great.
Once at the camp site the tents were put up. We were a wee bit rusty but by the end of the week we should be able to cut the time in half.

Bobby had also brought some of his own strawberries and some ice cream. Hmmmm hmmm hmmm.
Once the washing up was done it was time to re-pack our bags and cut down on duplicated weight.
I managed a wee saunter along the pebble beach as the sun sank on this the longest day.
Well time for some shut eye.
